Person at Work: Playing Strings (2A)

For the second round I visited two Italian friends who play guitar in a small practice room. I thought it would be a good setting, but I faced two major obstacles: tiny space and extremely low light. Adding these factors with the "restrictions" of the brief, I had a pretty hard time in coming out with acceptable pictures... but I enjoyed the day very much! The room was no more than 5 square meters, crowded with the two players, their equipment and myself. I agree with Homer that a photographer should never say "I couldn't back up!"... But actually, I really couldn't. What I could have done in the first place, is choosing the 35mm lens rather than 50mm. So, most pictures are a way too tight, too close to the subjects. Also, scarce space led to me to take more vertical pictures than I usually would. At least, there was a large mirror which added some interesting reflections, and I tried to use it as much as I could. I tried to be aware of composition more than anything else. After sunset, light almost disappeared. Even if some pictures might work for a web gallery, I think that none could be printed as noise is too high.
