Person at Work: Folding Clothes (3A)

The third round is dedicated to a Salesian Sister who is busy in folding clothes in her convent. We are in Bethlehem. I had no time to arrange a shooting session in a place requiring previous coordination, so I went again for an "easy option". And I also had an "easy session", meaning that I tried to take plain and simple pictures in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Unexpectedly, this may have contributed to achieving a fairly effective result: I feel these pictures do not show only what the person is doing, but also something about her personality, temper and mood. She looks very concentrated in her work, but also happy about her day, as a life-loving person. Looking back at these images I can indeed recognize the Sister, which isn't often the case when it comes to taking pictures of people.
All in all I am quite satisfied with the experience and feedback of the first round, and I feel I am learning very much. I know I must do much more to get out of my "comfort zone", especially in choosing the settings. Inshallah, I will be able to do this as my overall schedule gets more settled and regular. But I have already taken note of what Adam Broomberg said about 90% of his time being spent on research and access. Hopefully, as my skills and confidence increase, I will be able to shift my focus from the actual shooting to all what stands behind it...
